Associate professorship in Political Economics

The Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH) invites excellent candidates for an associate professorship in Political Economics.

The position is a permanent, full-time position, available from 01/09/24 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Introduction

Situated in the heart of Copenhagen, the Department of Economics is one of the leading economics departments in Europe and offers courses at all levels. The department has a strong international research profile and a vibrant and dynamic research and teaching environment. The associate professor is expected to contribute actively to advancing the research and teaching environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the post include contributing to the scholarship and intellectual life of the University of Copenhagen by conducting world-class research and teaching. An associate professor also has administrative responsibilities and is expected to develop the field in synergy with other fields and exercise academic leadership.

General duties attached to the position of Associate Professor in Political Economics are:

  • Research within the field of Political Economics.
  • Teaching, supervision, and examination of undergraduate and post-graduate students.
  • Administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge sharing with the rest of the society.
  • Research and teaching management.
  • Raising external research grants.

The position

  • The terms of appointment and salary are in accordance with the agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
  • The salary is DKK 44,911 monthly + a 17.1 % contribution to the pension scheme. It is possible to negotiate salary supplements on an annual basis.
